Hybrid access platforms on show

in on 05 February 2010

R2 Access Platforms displayed two hybrid scissor lifts imported from Custom Equipment in America at the EHS. The battery-powered units use regenerative braking to extend the time between battery recharges.

The HB1030CE's hydraulically elevated scissor gives a 4.87m working height and can accommodate 304kg in the basket. Its taller sister, the HB1430CE, has a 6.1m working height and both come with a 630mm wide platform that extends from 1.5m to almost 2.3m.

Also on show was a prototype of a smaller unit that uses castors at the front and independent drives for each rear wheel enabling it to turn in its own length. The init is joystick controlled and 'goes in any direction you push the stick'.
