Volvo has introduced an operator training package called Eco Operator deigned to raise environmental awareness, promote better operating efficiencies and reduce both fuel consumption and emissions.

The one-day training course takes place at the customer's premises with the customer's machines and is tailored to the customer's work. It includes practical and theoretical exercises aimed at improving fuel economy and operator efficiency without compromising productivity.

Fuel consumption is measured at the outset and monitored (if possible) using Volvo's telematic system Matris. After six weeks a second visit is made to evaluate how the training has benefited the operation and the resultant fuel savings.

Volvo is so confident its specialist training will be providing customers with definite saving in fuel, if improvements cannot be found it will refund the training fees.
