Hitachi's take centre stage in Quebec

Canadian plant enthusiast Guillaume Poitras has been out an about taking photos of machines in Quebec and recently came across one of his favourite excavators at the moment a Hitachi Zaxis 200LC-3.

This machine is a demonstration model which is being field tested by local company Les Entreprises Bourgeois inc who are a plant hire and groundworks business.

The company currently run a Daewoo Solar 225LC-V, Doosan DX225, John Deere 450J dozer, and two items from the Case stable which includes a 580 superM backhoe loader and a wheeled loader.

The Zaxis 200LC-3 tips the scales around 20 400 kg and is powered by a 122 k(164HP) Isuzu AI-4HK1X 4-cycle water-cooled, direct injection turbocharged, intercooled engine which complies with the Emission Regulations U.S EPA Tier 3, and EU Stage III A

The advanced low noise design complies with the EU noise regulation 2000 / 14 / EC,STAGE II.

I must say having spent some time on a Zaxis 210LC-3 whilst working for UK contractor Hannafin I discovered that these machines are incredibly quiet whilst operating and even under heavy load the engine just seems to purr away without any effort at all.

Also working on this site in Quebec is another local company called Généreux Construction Inc who's work involves a whole spectrum of services from deep sewer line works to small utility repairs.

On this contract the company have an older Zaxis 200 and a Rubble-Master RM80 crusher. The RM80 which is powered by a 123 kW Deutz diesel 4 cylinder engine, and
can process up to 165 short tons (150 metric tonnes) per hour, depending on feed material.

The company's Zaxis 200 is being employed to load the crusher on this job although from the angle of the photo's I can't see if there is much to crush on the job unless they are importing material in. Perhaps Guillaume can update us on how this project progresses.

Guillaume is keen on taking artistic photos of machines focusing on the brand name or particular model numbering. I hope to showcase some of his work in future posts here on the Digger blog but for now here is a small a taste of his work.

And finally here is a photo of the superb Hitachi Zaxis 210LC-3 that I spent some time on here in the UK back in 2007 when this agency driver left. Took me a while to get her cleaned up but I must say it was a cracking machine!
