Auf Wiedersehen Pet (Plant at work in Germany)

In response to last months request for your holiday snaps with a plant flavour reader David Wylie from Scotland has sent in some great shots from his recent trip to Germany.

These shots were taken just outside the French town of Wissembourg just 100 yards inside the German border so it was no suprise to see a German Liebherr 900 Litronic at work in a wine vineyard.

David said they seemed to be digging foundations for a new building and as you can see there appears to be a lot of reinforcement bar just waiting to be inserted into the holes.

One thing David noticed on these sites is the lack of any PPE no boots, Hi-VIS or Hard hat, never mind gloves, eye protection etc.
Just makes you wonder if it is only us in the UK who comply to all this health and safety regime.

Here are another couple of photos showing another famous German machine manufacturer who are now part of the Terex brand O&K.

These photos featuring a O&K MH6 PMS and O&K MH4 were taken in Silberburgstrasse street of Stuttgart working on a new or repair of mains / infrastructure job. A deep hole had been dug to approximately 6 metres and workers were being winched down the excavation off the back of a small drop side truck.

Just around the corner David come across this job where a car parking area was being constructed in the back yard of a new block of flats plant on site included a Komatsu PC35 mini digger & Neuson 850 wheeled loader.

This fine example of the ever popular Komatsu PC130-7 was spotted at a site where they are building more new flats in Mohringen Bahnhof note the tilting bucket which are virtually a standard fitting in most European markets these days.
