Doosan DX60R Test drive SED 2009

One of my last test drives at this years SED was on the Doosan DX60R which has an operational weight of 5.900 kg.

This machine is powered by a Yanmar 4TNV98-ESDB6 4 cylinder engine which develops 37.6 kW (50.4 Hp) at 2.200 rpm.

I only got to spend a short time in the cab of this machine but I must say I was very impressed with it, as is the norm with Doosan machines it was very fast!

I took the DX60R up onto the heap to put it through it's paces and I was pleasantly suprised with how powerful this 6 tonner was. Once on the heap I also found that it had plenty of digging power and coped with the heavy SED soil easily. The machines grading performance was also excellent too

For a midi excavator I found the cab quite spacious and it was well thought out in terms of ergonomics.

The cab has a large entrance & exit area which means accessibility is improved & the front workspace is maximized, as such the operating area is very comfortable and the addition of the quality air conditioning system will be a real bonus to the operator as we all know just how hot it can be in these mini/midi machines where you are basically sat on top of the hydraulics.

I can see this little machine appealing to a whole range of users in the plant hire sector, small to medium sized builders, civil engineering and utilitiy contractors, and will definetly be a firm favourite with the many thousands of Doosan fans out there.
